An unusual late 19th century Gustav Becker wall clock. 8-day weight driven movement with quarter hour Grand Sonnerie strike and a two-part dial with Silvered chapter ring, Arabic numerals and a molded Brass bezel, matching etched dial, weights and pendulum, serial #403928. Unusual paper-mache case (see Ortenberger p.128), features an arched top with Shell design over a door with circular dial glass and shaped lower flanked by Carytid figures and foliate detail over a shaped lower drop with Eagle. Original finish with some wear, running when cataloged. 58" high overall. ESTIMATE $800-1,200

A late 19th century Gustav Becker wall clock. 8-day one weight time only movement with two part porcelain dial, Arabic numerals and seconds bit. Becker anchor mark and "Medaille D'or" stamps on backplate. Walnut case with an arched crest and carved fan over a long door with turned pilasters and galleried drop with carved detail. Nicely refinished with minor wear, replaced finials, running when cataloged. 52" high. ESTIMATE $400-600

Altdeutsch style Walnut case with arched crest, carved finial and foliage over a single long door with arched dial glass and shaped lower flanked by turned pilasters with fluted detail over a shaped lower drop with turned finial. Becker was one of the top German clockmakers of the late 19th & early 20th centuries & was eventually absorbed into the Junghans Clock Co., overall great condition, minor wear on dial near 10 o’clock. German Gustav Becker Unusual Ratchet Wind Vienna Regulator Clock, Circa 1880, 8″ printed paper dial with enamel center & seconds bit, 8-day, unusual brass movement, very rare two weight solid plate mechanism with extremely unusual pull cord ratchet winders, lovely mixed wood case has book matched veneers & original carved top, normally clocks of this type wind with a crank, this type of winding system was probably made so the clock can be high on a wall & wound without a ladder, an advanced collectors clock, excellent condition, recently serviced. Height 53″.
