An unusual late 19th century Gustav Becker wall clock. 8-day weight driven movement with quarter hour Grand Sonnerie strike and a two-part dial with Silvered chapter ring, Arabic numerals and a molded Brass bezel, matching etched dial, weights and pendulum, serial #403928. Unusual paper-mache case (see Ortenberger p.128), features an arched top with Shell design over a door with circular dial glass and shaped lower flanked by Carytid figures and foliate detail over a shaped lower drop with Eagle. Original finish with some wear, running when cataloged. 58" high overall. ESTIMATE $800-1,200
