An early 20th century Seth Thomas "No. 23" model grandfather clock. 8-day weight driven No. 72 A movement with dead beat escapement, half hour Cathedral gong strike, a round Silvered dial with Arabic numerals and subsidiary seconds. Mahogany case with molded Swan neck pediment and turned finial above a fan carved frieze and square dial door with circular glass flanked by shaped fluted columns with cast Gilded capitols and bases over a waist door with beveled glass flanked by chamfered corners on a paneled base with short flared feet. Restored finish with slight wear, movement recently overhauled, running and striking correctly when cataloged. 20 1/2 x 13 x 97 1/2" high overall. ESTIMATE $1,000-2,000
