A late 19th century Ithaca “Belgrade No. 6 1/2” model double dial calendar shelf clock. 8-day time & strike movement with lower calendar mechanism and carved Walnut pendulum and papered metal dials. The upper movement is marked “Wm L. Gilbert Clock Co, Winstead, Conn. U.S.A.”. In a Walnut case with a single molded door and carved detail. Old finish with minor wear and older glued repairs to crown, minor dial discoloration, running but strikes sluggishly when cataloged. 32 1/4″ high.

Ithaca No 6 1/2 Shelf Belgrade Double Dial Calendar Clock. Original 8 in. black dial has gilt Roman hour numerals, pierced brass hands; brass 8 day spring driven movement by E.N. Welch, Made for Ithaca Clock Co. has an hour strike on a coiled gong and long carved wood pendulum & bob. Original black 8 in. lower calendar dial has 31 date numbers outside with open aperture cutouts exposing the month & day cylinders; has a good brass perpetual calendar mechanism in working condition, original black labels. In an ash case with pierced carved crest and black incised highlights throughout, in good condition with a cleaned original finish. 32.5 in. high x 14 in. wide x 7 in. deep.

Original 8 in. paper dial has black Roman hour numerals, fancy blued hands; brass 8 day spring driven movement with hour strike on a coiled gong and long carved wood pendulum & bob, unsigned. Original paper 8 in. lower calendar dial has 31 date numbers outside with open aperture cutouts exposing the month & day cylinders; has a good brass perpetual calendar mechanism in working condition, original paper labels. In an ash case with pierced carved crest and black incised highlights throughout, in good condition with an excellent enhanced original finish; minor repair to the tip of the teardrop carving on the bracket, has a split in the wood dial board, the crest carvings are replaced. 37 in. high x 14 in. wide x 7 in. deep.
