Hotchkiss & Benedict Mirror Clock. Painted wood dial has a 9 in. chapter ring with gilt borders, black Roman hour numerals, gilt painted spandrels, open center with pointer hand seconds indicator, pierced minute and hour hands (minute hand repaired). The dial is signed Warranted by Hotchkiss & Benedict. The brass 8 day, weight driven movement is numbered 2235, has count wheel strike mechanism, drop hammer strike and iron bell at the top of the movement, long cylindrical iron weights and figural eagle pendulum bob, movement by A. Munger. In a mahogany case with fancy crest, upper door with original glass, the base has turned columns with carved capitols and 2 mirror paneled lower door with original glasses, in good condition and original finish, missing a few minor molding pieces; singed with paper labels in the back of the case. 37 in. high x 17 in. wide x 5.5 in. deep.
