The dore bronze clock depicts the “Fountain of Youth”, a spiral glass rod spins, resembling flowing water, has a separate spring driven movement built into the case; the figure of Ponce de Leon is seated beside the fountain on a boulder, he holds a canteen of water in his hands, the stepped rectangular base has a grey tone finish with dore bronze mounts containing gothic arches with quatrefoil medallions in the center. Has a 3 in. silvered chapter ring with black Roman numerals and open moon hands; typical round French brass silk thread movement signed Villemsens a Paris, count wheel strike mechanism strikes on a bell.
