The clock has typical fancy pierced hands, signed metal painted 6.5 in. dial with black Roman hour numerals, black chapter ring with black minute markers, typical brass 8 day time only movement signed “E. O. Stennes Weymouth, Mass”, steel pendulum rod, brass pulley, brass bob, lock down hardware, lead weight signed – E.O. Stennes. Elaborate Girandole presentation banjo case has a large gilt eagle, elaborate gilt base, solid brass bezel and balls, presentation throat with rope molding and gilt lower door with gilt balls, Aurora lower door signed reverse painted glass and reverse painted Patent throat glass. The case is in overall magnificent condition. This is a nice looking well cared for clock. Presentation inscription on the back of the case – my friend Lawrence Smith – dated 1975 and signed Elmer O. Stennes. 45 in. high x 12 in. wide x 5.5 in. deep

Elaborate Girandole presentation banjo case has a large gilt eagle & gilt filigree carved bracket, brass bezel mounted with brass spheres, presentation throat with rope molding and gilt lower door with turned gilt spheres, convex reverse painted Aurora lower tablet glass and reverse painted ÂPatent throat glass. Case is in good condition, repainted with some gilt flaking to the spheres. 45 in. high x 12 in. wide x 5.5 in. deep. Weight: 22 lbs.

Case is in good condition with touchup to some gilded balls; tab at the top of the throat is repaired, 2 edge flakes in the bezel glass. 45 in. high x 12 in. wide x 5.5 in. deep.

Elmer O. Stennes Girandole Banjo Clock: The TO works are marked “E.O. Stennes Weymouth, Mass. 5”. The painted dial is marked “Elmer O. Stennes Weymouth, Mass.”. The throat is marked “L. Curtis Patent”. The tablet is of a marriage scene. The case is marked “M.C.I.P. 71” (Made case in prison, 1971.) There is also an eagle finial; the weight and pendulum with the clock.
Not tested.
(There is a small chip on the dial.)
