Ingraham Banjo Style Treasure Island Clock
Description
Produced by the E. Ingraham Company of Bristol, Connecticut this Federal style banjo clock awakens the sea loving scalawag in each of us with its Treasure Island theme. Scenes from the Robert Louis Stevenson classic are generalized on the reverse painted panels of this piece. Even the pendulum looks like one of Long John Silver’s sought after doubloons or pieces of eight, or perhaps even Jack Sparrow’s compass. Clock is missing the finial and measures approximately 36" x 10" x 4". This is the larger size that Ingraham produced. Good condition overall, some scratches to the face by the keyholes as would be expected, and normal wear from age on the body. Nice patina on the metal accents. Clock is running, but would definitely benefit from a thorough cleaning. Graphics are good overall, with only very minor losses. Original label inside.
