Welch Double Dial Calendar Shelf Clock. Painted metal dial has a 7 in. chapter ring with black Roman hour numerals and days of the week inside, open moon time hands and pierced spade day indicator. Birge brass strap plate weight driven movement, countwheel strike mechanism with coiled gong, iron side weights and brass pendulum bob. Original B.B. Lewis lower perpetual calendar, 8 in dial with 31 date chapter ring and month indicator inside; Welch Spring Co. label in the back of the case. Rosewood case has bevel framed doors with long gilt half columns on the sides and ebonized trim. 30 in. high x 17 in. wide x 4.5 in. deep.

Welch, Forestville, CT. The rosewood case has an octagonal form with rounded front corners, brass door bezel has a beveled glass, large partial paper label on the backboard of the case. In good condition and original finish, dial has some minor inpainting. 13 in. wide
