A late 19th century Waterbury "Augusta" model wall clock. 8-day weight driven time and strike movement with silvered metal dial and Roman numerals. Fancy Oak case with cast metal ornamentation and an arched crown with carved finial over a molded frieze and single circular door, flanked by turned pilasters over an open well with turned columns and shaped drop. Older refinishing with some wear, dial discoloration, replaced weight hooks, running when cataloged. 50" high overall. ESTIMATE $800-1200

Waterbury Augusta Weight Driven Wall Clock. 10 in. silver painted dial with black Roman hour numerals & blued pierced hands; 8 day brass weight driven movement has count wheel half hour strike mechanism with coiled gong mounted above the movement, brass covered pendulum bob with wood stick and brass weights on hanging chains with brass rings at the ends. Oak case has an arched crest with gilt brass eagle finial, griffin side pieces, maidens head and embellishments with shell carving, spiral turned half columns and wood bezel around the dial, the base has a long drop back panel with spiral turned columns and corbelled supports. In good condition, has an overcoated finish, eagle finial is replaced. 51 in. high x 19 in. wide x 6.5 in. deep.
