A late 19th century Waterbury “Augusta” model wall clock. 8-day weight driven time and strike movement with painted metal dial. Oak case with hand carved detail and cast brass ornament with gold finish. Good refinishing with slight wear, restored dial. Running when cataloged. 51 1/2″ high. Ref. 1, page 285, #1050.

Waterbury Augusta Weight Driven Wall Clock. 10 in. silver painted dial with black Roman hour numerals & blued pierced hands; 8 day brass weight driven movement has count wheel half hour strike mechanism with coiled gong mounted above the movement, brass covered pendulum bob with wood stick and brass weights on hanging chains with brass rings at the ends. Oak case has an arched crest with gilt brass eagle finial, griffin side pieces, maidens head and embellishments with shell carving, spiral turned half columns and wood bezel around the dial, the base has a long drop back panel with spiral turned columns and corbelled supports. In good condition, has an overcoated finish, eagle finial is replaced. 51 in. high x 19 in. wide x 6.5 in. deep.
