A 1930's Waltham Presentation Banjo clock. 8-day weight driven time only movement with maintaining power and Geneva stop marked "Waltham Clock Co. USA, 8739", a painted metal dial marked "Waltham" and Arabic numerals. Mahogany case with applied Brass rope detail having a Gilded Eagle finial above circular Brass upper door with convex glass over a throat glass with reverse painted decoration and Jefferson portrait, flanked by shaped Brass side arms over a lower door with reverse painted decoration of Monticello over a carved drop with Mahogany spheres and fluted detail. Original finish with minor wear, some flaking and touch-ups on glasses, running when cataloged. 41" high. ESTIMATE $600-800

Painted metal dial has a 6.5 in. chapter ring with black Arabic hour numbers, proper black hands and faint Waltham signature; spring driven time only movement with lever platform escapement, in good running condition, signed Waltham Clock Co. U.S.A. 31469. Mahogany banjo style case has gilt ball & eagle finial, brass door bezel with convex glass, pierced brass side arms, patriotic reverse painted throat glass and reverse painted lower tablet with PerryÂs Victory, carved presentation bracket with applied spheres and acorn teardrop finial, in good condition with no losses to the paint. 41.5 in. high x 10 in. wide x 4 in. deep.
