2 Walnut Kitchen Clocks; EN Welch & Waterbury:
1.) E.N. Welch Walnut “Cowper” Kitchen Clock with an 8 day T&S movement, an unmarked painted dial and a brass pan with a sunburst pendulum. The stenciled glass has a heron, a frog holding a champagne glass , cattails and vining berry bushes. There are paper labels on the back. The key is with the clock. (The dial is crazed. There is a slight rub mark to the crest.)
2.) Waterbury Walnut “Hebron” Kitchen Clock: With an 8 day T&S movement with 1/2 hour strike and a marked painted tin dial, nickel pan and a nickel target pendulum. The glass door is stenciled with herons and cattails. The key is with the clock. (The dial is crazed and has a small chipped area.)

Ansonia maker, stamped on the works is an 1881 Patent date, beveled round glass front door over the open escapement movement, figure seated beside the clock may be Mercury??, animal paw feet, black iron case and white metal frame for the figure and clock case, the mechanism is so dirty it needs to be seriously cleaned. The face has an age crack beside the 10 extending down into the open escapement border. 17 1/2″ long by 13 1/2″ tall. The front center design has a split that needs to be repaired as well. There are some dents to side decorations and a finial is missing from the center of the top of the clock.

On the backplate of the mechanism is Pat. Nov. 1, 1881, William Gilbert, molded china case with shells, scrolling and floral transfers, round face with ornate brass molding and door covering, surface crazing as you would expect, 10″ tall by 8″ wide.
