A fine Philadelphia tall case mahogany clock By William H. C. Riggs, (1795-1861), Clock dates to before 1818 which is when he partnered with his brother and it became, "Riggs & Brother". The hood is mounted with a tombstone shaped door covering a hand painted dial with a ship. Also, the face of the clock is clearly marked. The hood is flanked by full columns. The center waist section and the lower case are inlaid with a pencil inlay design. The sides of the waist section and lower section are flanked by fluted quarter columns. The clock rests on Chippendale OG bracket feet. Measures approx. 64"h. Includes as seen in later photos: finial, crank, weight, and pendulum 8 day
