Beautiful revserse painted glass tablet with eagle, hand painted dial with open diamond hands, stenciled splat and claw feet. Beautiful label, “Time is Money” “Franklin Clocks with improvement of bushing the pivots with ivory, arranged and manufactured by Silas Hoadley, Plymouth, Conn.” This clock is referred to by collectors as upside down woodworks movement clock. Originally this clock was marketed by Silas Hoadley in honor of Ben FranklinÕs famous quote ÒTime Is MoneyÓ. Measures approx. 37″ tall x 17″ wide x 4″ deep.

An unusual long case oak regulator, no maker’s marks found, an affidavit with this piece provides an account of the origin of this piece and suggests that the movement is of the Welch ‘UPSIDE DOWN’ type. The origin is said to be the Sabetha Kansas depot, of what line is not mentioned. T/S, a two-weight movement, refinished case measures 46 x 17 inches.

S.B Terry Ladder Movement Miniature Cottage Clock w/ Alarm. 4 in. painted wood dial with black Roman hour numerals and open center exposing the alarm indicator disc; has a brass 30 hour movement with long pierced plates and vertically stacked gears, brass covered pendulum bob, alarm mechanism is attached to the bottom of the time mechanism below the seat-board and strikes on an iron bell in the bottom. In a miniature mahogany cottage style case with tablet reverse decoration in a flowering urn design, case is refinished. 11.25 in. high x 7.25 in. wide x 3.5 in. deep.
