Silvered 18 in. bronze astronomical dial has black incised 5 minute numbers on the chapter ring, sub seconds dial over a sub hour dial and has a silvered bezel; quality brass 8 day weight driven time only astronomical movement has silvered pyramidal plates, nice brass posts, deadbeat escapement, maintaining power, beat adjustment at the top of the crutch, quality brass side weight with engraved front, replace wood pulley at the top of the case, quality 4 glass jar compensating mercury pendulum (one jar is cracked) and silvered beat indicator in the bottom of the case. In a large carved walnut case with beautiful pediment crest and large turned finials, has turned and burled columns on either side of the door and stands on a base with 4 turned columns and inset burled panel. Good overall condition, has an original finish with an old dark overcoat, base is a lighter finish. 112 in. high x 39 in. wide x 12 in. deep.
