A late 19th century French cast brass wall clock with thermometer, having 4.5″ white enamelled Roman dial with moon hands, the two-train bell-striking movement with lever platform escapement, the cast case surmounted by a basket of fruit over zoomorphic foliate scrolls issuing flaming torches and flanking an ethanol thermometer, marked “THERMOMETRE”, with Centigrade and Reaumur scale over spiral terminal, the rear cast “DEPOSE” and “LG”, 24.5″ (62cm) high, sold with winder.

Condition

Dial – flake chips around winding squares (especially right), faint crack over hands, haircracking around III, IX and XII. Movement – sound. Case-some minor rusting to surmount, minor cracks to thermometer plate, tarnishing to rear cover and bruising to rim of rear cover. Fellows do not guarantee the working order or accuracy of any clocks sold.

Brass Wall Hanging 30 Day Regulator. 11 in. painted metal dial signed “Seth Thomas, Thirty Day”, spade hands and sub seconds dial; brass 30 day double spring driven movement signed with Seth Thomas trade mark, has a Graham deadbeat escapement, wood pendulum stick and a brass covered bob. In a brass case with serpentine top, round body with brass beaded bezel and lower drop section. Dial and movement are replaced, not original to the case. 24.5 in. high x 16 in. dia. x 6 in. deep.
