Description

Mid / late 19th century, the two-train movement signed ”A. Brocot & Delettrez / Paris” and numbered ”11138 / 16112”, the pendulum stamped ”5511”, the face signed ”Tiffany & Co. / New-York”, chimes on the hour and on the half, the hinged glazed aperture enclosing the scrolling pierced gilt hands over a white enamel face with applied blue Roman numerals and black Arabic minutes track, centering a gilt-bronze sculptural surround in the form of two angels signed ”L.V.E. Robert” for Louis Valentin Elias Robert (1821-1874 French), 22” H x 21.5” W x 5.75” D, est: $4000/6000

Condition

With scattered chips and cracks to enameled face, primarily localized to winding aperture, slow/fast adjustment and to lower left quadrant. Minor separation to scattered gilt-bronze elements at joints. Rubbed wear to gilding commensurate with age. Lacking key. Working condition unknown. Boname”, has an half hour strike on a bell. In a gilt bronze case with 2 seated figural musical putti at the top, hanging garland and fancy pierced rococo filigree; stamped on the back door “Tiffany & Co.”. Case has stress cracks along the base of the crest, clock is in overall good condition. 25 in. high x 12 in. wide x 4 in. deep.
