Description: 80” Thos. Sherwood, Yarm, Scotland, Antique Floor Regulator With Engraved Astronomical Dial, Circa 1780: With an 8 1/2″ silvered engraved brass disc with “Astronomical” dialing. The second and hour bits are surrounded by floral engraving. With an unusual 8 day movement, pendulum, weight driven with spring “Remontoir” rewinding every 10 seconds to drive the dead beat. With a 9 1/2″ Diameter bob and the movement has key set maintaining power. This clock was designed for use in an observatory in cold weather. Not tested. Sells as is, where is.
