Terryville Octagon Torsion Pendulum Marine Clock. 8 in. painted metal dial with black Roman hour numerals, fancy blued hands and sub seconds dial, brass spring driven time only movement with S.B. TerryÂs patented double action torsion pendulum. In a rosewood octagonal case with stepped OG front, brass door bezel, refinished. Suspension is broken, balance crossbar and beat adjustment post are present in the case, door glass is replaced. Terryville Manufacturing Co. paper label on the back of the case. 11 in. high x 11 in. wide x 3 in. deep.

Terryville Torsion Cottage Clock. 4 in. painted metal dial has black Roman hour numerals and fancy blued hands; brass spring driven movement has patented double acting torsion balance and escapement with double weighted cross-bar balance rotating on a long suspension spring which engages the pin-type crutch. Paper label in the back of the case for Terryville Manufacturing Company. Mahogany cottage style case has filigree reverse painted tablet glass. Worn original finish, missing some veneer at the top beveled edge of the base, dial is replaced, clock is in running condition. 11 in. high x 7 in. wide x 3.5 in. deep.

Terryville Candlestick Clock. 3 in. paper dial with brass bezel, signed Terryville Mfg. Co. Terryville, Conn. Has black Roman hour numerals and black spade hands. Time only brass movement set on a balance wheel platform having 2 round plates spaced between fancy cut pinions; in good running condition, the large balance wheel swings freely and the back plate covering the main spring is signed Â Terryville Manufacturing Company, Patented October 1852, Terryville, Conn. On a milk glass candlestick pedestal with dome top. 10 in. high.

A rare mid 19th century torsion pendulum clock by Aaron D. Crane (American, 1804-1860), who invented the “Crane’s Patented Year Clock” and use of the torsion pendulum for that clock. These Patents were issued while Crane was living in Caldwell, New Jersey in 1829 and 1841.

Guilmet Lighthouse Torsion Pendulum Clock. The two tone pyramidal bronze case depicts a lighthouse built from bricks on a black marble base. The clock has a torsion pendulum with helical spring spinning behind beveled glass panels in the center of the dome, resembling light. Square plate movement has a Brocot escapement and coiled gong strike, signed GLT Paris and numbered 1094. In good condition, 23 in. high
