Theodore Terry & Co. Torsion Miniature Steeple Clock. Original 4 in. painted metal dial has black Roman hour numerals and fancy blued hands; brass spring driven movement has patented double acting torsion balance and escapement with double weighted cross-bar balance rotating on a long suspension spring which engages the pin-type crutch. Paper label in the back of the case reads “Marine Clocks Time Piece, Double Acting Torsion Balance & Escapement, Theodore Terry & Co.”. In a rosewood steeple style case with turned conical finials and original reverse painted tablet glass. In good condition and enhanced original finish with only minor veneer losses and inpainting to the dial and tablet; suspension is broken at the top. 13 in. high x 7 in. wide x 3.25 in. deep.
