Description: Swiss or Austrian Regency Style Shelf Clock, Circa 1800: T & S with a 14 day gong movement with crown wheel escapement, quarter hour count wheel strike on two bells and hour strike on one bell. There is a separate rack and snail quarter pull repeat. The Regency style mahogany case has an 8 1/2″ porcelain dial with Roman hour ring and Arabic minute ring. Not tested. Sells as is, where is.

Was originally T & S with a Foliot balance converted to an anchor escapement in 1700 and further converted in 1900 to electric impulse. (There is a partial movement in the clock.) In fair condition. A tall Art Nouveau spelter case clock with the unusual feature of green slag glass panel behind the front openwork design, the classic flowing line of the Art Nouveau movement, porcelain enamel dial with painted Arabic numerals and minute division intervals of 45 minutes, painted florals and fronds, gilt cattail figural hands, unmarked time and strike brass plate movement. Measures 19.25 x 10.5 inches.

Very god condition overall, with key (probably not original) and is complete, winds and runs but doesn’t chime or stay running and keep time. No damage or cosmetic repair. We cannot guarantee the running condition of antique timepieces once removed form the premises.
