Germany, Symphonion musical clock, playing pierced center drive steel discs on request. A well made time and music movement is wound from the rear. Pin-pallet escapement. The music is serviced by lifting the hinged top. A special brass retainer holds the discs in place for playing. The comb has 30 teeth and included are 10 lively tunes on 4 1/2 inch {Symphonion #20) discs. Well made walnut case with finely turned and embossed moldings top and bottom. The case supported on four turned bun feet. There is a start-stop lever near the top on the right side, plus a horizontal bar that locks the top in place.

A late 19th century Model 62 grandfather clock by Polyphon Musikwerke, Leipzig with incorporated coin-op disc music box. 8-day German weight driven time and strike movement, probably by Lenzkirch, with a Silvered dial and Arabic numerals, having a Brass center and molded bezel, serial #4590, lower coin operated double comb music box with six 15 3/4" discs, plays on the hour or by coin op with option lever in base. Walnut case with pagoda top and turned finials, over a square molded dial door above an open well with turned pilasters behind a glass door, paneled lower door with shaped pilasters opens to reveal the music box, molded base with turned feet and lower coin drawer. Older finish with some wear, well door, coin play attachment and coin drawer added about 1880, running and functioning when cataloged. 103 1/2" high overall. ESTIMATE $10,000-15,000

A late 19th century grandfather clock with disc music box by Polyphon Musikwerke, Leipzig. 8-day spring driven time and strike movement by Lenzkirch with a Silvered dial and Arabic numerals, having a Brass center and molded bezel, serial #983384, lower single comb music box with three 15 3/4" discs plays on the hour with coiled gong strike. Walnut case with shaped crest and a carved fan over a Burl Walnut panel over a molded dial door with circular glass and shaped fluted pilasters, waist door with original multi color stained glass panel and turned pilasters opens to reveal the music box, all on a paneled base with turned pilasters molded plinth and turned feet. Older finish with some wear, running and functioning when cataloged. 96 1/4" high overall. ESTIMATE $8,000-12,000

Symphonion Eroica #38B 3 Disc Musical Hall Clock. 10 in. silvered dial with black painted hour numbers, brass bezel and fancy pierced decorated hands; brass 8 day spring driven movement signed ÂLenzkirch, 116708 has an hour strike on a coiled gong, steel pendulum rod with brass covered bob and lever to activates the musical mechanism on the hour (optional). Clock is not running or striking and musical lever is not connected. Contained in the throat of the case is a complex 3 disc music box, has 3 iron bed-plates with idler arms and 3 sets of double combs signed with ÂSymphonion lyre shaped trade mark, serial number 309654; includes 15 sets of 3 discs 13.75 in. dia., sequentially identified ÂAÂ, ÂB & ÂC and simultaneously playing giving the song a full and complex sound, mechanism is powered by 2 large springs wound on the right side. Mahogany case has an exceptional top with oversized turned flame finial on a strapped dome with beaded mounts and large turned front corner finials, an architectural crest with overhanging top is supported by turned front columns and turned half columns on the back panel, nice wood door bezel and figure winged cherubÂs head carving below. The case body has a carved front door with fancy pilasters flanking an inset door panel with filigree carved center and drop front door in the base having a deep inset panel, seashell carved arch, fern leaves reaching up the sides and divided interior slots for 15 disc sets. Music box is in fine playing condition with strong sound, start-stop lever on the left side is working, has keys for movement and doors and cranks for the music box springs; case has a beautiful original finish with nice patina, has molding and applied carving repairs and losses and the top finial around the rear center diameter of its body. 110 in. high x 27 in. wide x 17.5 in. deep.
