Silas Hoadley, Plymouth, CT pillar and scroll with 3 brass urn finials, reverse painted tablet, raised gold gilt original dial, open diamond hands, wooden works, very nice label “Arranged and Manufactured by Silas Hoadley, Plymouth (Conn.)”, pendulum, measures approx. 31″ tall x 17″ wide x 4″ deep. Many Silas Hoadley Clocks which depict a home or building on the reverse painted glass tablet, are actual homes in the Town of Plymouth and surrounding Connecticut towns of the time period.

Arranged and Manufactured by Silas Hoadley, Plymouth, (Conn.)”, thirty-hour, weight driven, wooden works clock with key wind and pendulum. Silas Hoadley, Plymouth, CT, “Franklin Clocks” c. 1835, 30 hour shelf clock with rare ivory bushed upside down woodworks movement with alarm, Very collectible Silas Hoadley ÒFranklinÓ clock, rare movement, good label with ÒTime Is MoneyÓ logo on lower reverse glass painting. Beautiful revserse painted glass tablet with eagle, hand painted dial with open diamond hands, stenciled splat and claw feet. Beautiful label, “Time is Money” “Franklin Clocks with improvement of bushing the pivots with ivory, arranged and manufactured by Silas Hoadley, Plymouth, Conn.” This clock is referred to by collectors as upside down woodworks movement clock. Originally this clock was marketed by Silas Hoadley in honor of Ben FranklinÕs famous quote ÒTime Is MoneyÓ. Measures approx. 37″ tall x 17″ wide x 4″ deep.
