Signed Pottier & Stymus Carved Parlor Floor Clock. Renaissance Revival rosewood case has an arched carved crest with side corbels, ebonized with gilt incised & carved highlights; the front has an oval porcelain plaque with winged putti over a raised panel with brass hanging ribbon & filigree mounts with ewer, tray & teapot, inset side panels have hanging ribbon and filigree brass mounts. Case is in untouched original condition with some minor losses to the carvings and trim. The top of the case has a bronze figural bust of Cleopatra, with locks of hair hanging below her winged and feathered bird headdress; has a nice dark brown patina, birds head is missing, hole pierced into the back of the plinth for accessing mounting screw, 11.75 in. high. 5 in. rouge marble dial with black marble inner ring signed “Pottier & Stymus, New York”, gilt spade hands, applied brass Roman hour numerals (missing 6 – “VI”); has a typical round brass spring driven French movement signed “L’Marti & Cie”, half hour bell strike on a steel bell. 81 in. high x 24 in. wide x 12.5 in. deep.
