Signed Aaron Willard Jr. Lyre Banjo Clock. Original 7 in. painted iron dial signed ÂAaron Willard Jr., Boston and numbered ÂNo. 648Â, has black Roman hour numerals and good pierced hands; quality brass weight driven movement with half hour rack & snail strike on a bell at the top of the movement, has a long steel pendulum rod hanging from a t-bridge suspension with brass covered bob and 2 lead weights with brass pulleys. In a beautiful carved mahogany lyre shaped case with gilt turned wood finial, hinged brass door bezel, pierced filigree carved frame work in the throat with original reverse painted throat glass, lower door with mirrored tablet and fluted carved lower bracket with a teardrop acorn finial. Case has an enhanced original finish, some paint flaking and inpainting on the tablet, original mirror, some gold flaking to the finial, in beautiful condition. 40 in. high x 12 in. wide x 4 in. deep.

Waterbury Willard No. 5 Weight Driven Banjo Clock. 8 in. porcelain dial has Arabic hour numbers and pierced hands, dial signed Manufactured by Waterbury Clock Co. U.S.A. Brass 8 day weight driven time only movement signed Waterbury Clock Co. U.S.A. has a long pendulum rod with fancy gilt brass bob. Mahogany presentation style banjo case with turned teardrop finial, brass bezel with convex glass, pierced brass side arms, turned spheres at the base and carved lower bracket; original reverse painted throat glass and tablet painted with a scenic view of a house, has some minor flaking to the paint. Original finish. 43 in. high x 10 in. wide x 4 in. deep.

An early 19th century Willard type Banjo wall clock. 8-day weight driven time only “A frame” movement usually associated with makers in the Newport RI area, with painted metal dial marked “Simon Willard & Son, No. 04719”. Gilded case with Brass arms and restored “B. Esposito” reverse painted throat and door glasses. Some wear and older repairs, several repainted areas. 41″ high.
