Description

Seth Thomas mahogany 3-weight hall clock, Westminster movement, chiming on the quarter hours on nest of bells and “striking” the hour on large gong, having a high scrolling broken arch pediment with 3 finials, the arched door reveals a moon phase dial, over a waisted case with glass door on a plinth base resting on bracket feet. The case is decorated with applied swags and wreaths, some losses. The wooden pendulum rod has been broken and repaired some time ago and the suspension spring is not the original and probably should be changed, but the clock does run and strike properly. 91″H x 20″W x 12″D, Circa – 1910.

FINE AND LARGE ENGLISH MAGNIFICENTLY CARVED MAHOGANY NINE-TUBE HALL CLOCK, circa 1900, the dial signed Thomas Armstrong & Bros., Manchester, having Westminster and Whittington chimes, with pierce carved arched cornice, the silvered chapter ring dial flanked by corbels and c-scrolls, with 3 weights and a mercury pendulum, the base with canted reeded corners; 103 inch height; 28 inch width; 29 inch depth (Est. 18,000-24,000)
