Seth Thomas Parlor Model Calendar Clock. Original 7 in. painted metal time dial with black Roman hour numerals and spade hands; brass 8 day weight driven movement signed “S. Thomas, Plymouth, Conn.” has pierced lyre shaped plates, countwheel hour strike on a coiled gong and iron side weights. Lower 7.5 in. painted metal calendar dial with 31 date numbers and open apertures exposing the day and month cylinders; perpetual calendar mechanism with original labels. In a rosewood ogee style case with hexagonal half columns, original gilt and black reverse painted center tablet, case is signed with an original paper label for “Seth Thomas, Plymouth, Conn.”. Dials have some inpainting, has flaking to original tablet glass; overcoated original alligatored finish. 30.5 in. high x 19 in. wide x 5.75 in. deep. Weight: 35 lbs.

American Seth Thomas, Plymouth Hollow, Conn. “8 Day Parlor Calendar” Clock, Circa 1860, 8″ upper dial repapered on original dial pan, lower dial original & 10% flaked, 8-day, brass weight driven movement, model is considered one of the first models of the many American double dial perpetual calendar clocks produced in America, very good working condition with normal wear. U.S.A.”, count wheel half hour strike mechanism with coiled gong, round iron side weights and brass covered pendulum bob. 8 in. lower calendar dial has a 31 date calendar with apertures exposing the month and day cylinders, signed “Southern Calendar Clock Co. St. Louis, MO. Time and calendar mechanisms are in good running condition, paper dials are replaced and cylinder papers are replaced. In a rosewood case with arched top, inset panels and round wood bezels around the dial glasses. 33 in. high x 16 in. wide x 5 in. deep.
