Seth Thomas City Clock  Newark 5 in. paper dial with black Roman hour numerals, brass bezel, black spade hands and open center with brass alarm indicator disc; spring driven movement, No. 5 7/8, signed  S. Thomas, Thomaston, Conn. U.S.A.  has pierced brass plates, count wheel half hour strike mechanism, coiled gong, brass pendulum bob, alarm strike has a rare Winward’s Patent Railway Alarm mechanism which alternately strikes the bell and gong, the power runs off of the mainspring for the strike mechanism and has a shut off lever switch at the top of the case. In a walnut case with pierced carved crest and scrolling side pieces, reverse gilt decorated door glass. 21 in. high x 13 in. wide.
