E. Howard No. 397 Custom Regulator. 14 in. painted metal dial has Arabic hour numbers, sub-seconds dial, pierced diamond hands, signed E. Howard & Co. Boston. Quality brass weight driven No. 60 movement, has Graham deadbeat escapement, retaining power, signed E. Howard & Co. Boston; 4 jar mercurial pendulum with steel stick – numbered 397 and 3388 (dwt), isochronous beat adjustment on the top of the verge and original crank. In a custom cherry Colonial style case, has a tapered form with reverse graduated beveled glass panels in the door, arched bonnet with scrolled crest; restoration to base. Made for the M. Eisenstadt Jewelry Co. of St. Louis, MO, circa 1891, (as stated in a letter from Dana Blackwell). 79.5 in. high x 20 in. wide x 10.5 in deep.

Gilbert No. 16 Floor Standing Regulator. 12 in. porcelain dial with black Roman hour numerals, open moon hands & brass bezel; brass 8 day weight driven time only movement, deadbeat escapement, retaining power, silvered weight, brass pulley and quality 3 jar cut glass mercurial compensating pendulum. In a carved chestnut floor standing case with arched crest and turned finals on the sides, carved Egyptian maidens head crest, the sides of the case have long carved corbels at the top and bottom, the base with burled and incised panel in the front. Good condition, top finial missing and finial clusters on the crest sides are missing, one replaced rosette and one missing on the crest; case is refinished. 102 in. high x 34 in. wide x 13.5 in. deep.
