The name is stamped on the back of the brass movement and seems to be S. Mirti & Co., the hinged door has H23 and R64 on the back inside. The carving is out of European Oak. A group of dogs is attacking a wild boar in a wooded setting. The finish seems to be all original. 17 1/2″ tall by 25″ long. Logs are laying on the ground, there are tree stumps, flowers. The dogs and boar have glass eyes and 2 glass eyes are missing. Time only with no striking mechanism, the face is porcelain with a crack extending from the 8 area to just above the 6. There are carved stones out of wood on the ground, maybe the top dog has an ear in the battle or was carved that way, both tusks are intact, 1880-1910 era, even the boar has upturned tusks.

Black Forest Carved Hunting Theme Mantle Clock. Black forest carved case has an arched form resembling the ground in the forest with hunting dogs, rabbits burrowed in their den, a figure of a man with a rifle and his dog at the top. 3 in. wood dial with brass Roman hour numerals and brass spade hands, carved bugle shaped bezel; round French brass spring 8 day movement signed “Japy Freres” has an half hour strike on a coiled gong and is in running condition. The case has an old enhanced finish, has wormholes in the wood and a repair to the hunter’s rifle. 16.25 in. high x 14.5 in. wide x 7.5 in. deep.

German, Black Forest musical mixed wood cuckoo clock, c. 1875, a delightful example of the craftsmanship found in Germany, bone hands on the dial and a carved botanical design to the case is visually pleasing while great attention has been paid to the aural element of this timepiece, “Star Spangled Banner” and “Conquerors Waltz” play on the hour, movement is stamped by maker, 30 hour movement, operating, 15.5″h, 13.25″w, 7″d, 11.25lbs

Probably 1880-1910 era, hand carved in Black Forest area, pheasant and rabbit carved with birds and deer crest, there are a very few small pieces of wood carving missing but overall, its really in good condition considering its age and the amount of carving. 36″ tall by 31″ wide. It is just hard to describe the carving work in this, extremely detailed and seemingly all original finish. The cuckoo is inside and the door for the cuckoo to come out is missing.

Large 3 Weight Black Forest Cuckoo Clock. Heavily carved black forest case with running deer on the front, surrounded in oak leaves and branches, ferns and evergreens; a very nice woodland motif with a large eagle on the crest with glass beaded eyes. 9 in. dial with applied porcelain Roman hour numerals and faux antler carved hands. 2 door front with cuckoo bird and German man. Bird cuckoos on the half hour and the man appears on the hour while a music box plays, movement has fancy pierced brass plates and pinecone weights. Excellent working condition, runs and plays, bellows need repair; overcoated finish, no major breaks or losses, eagle’s beak has a chip at the tip. 53 in. high x 26 in. high x 15 in. deep.
