Monumental Richard Whittington Grandfather Clock. Approx.12 feet high. Heavily carved oak case with 3 ft. tall putti at the base, around a central medallion of Sir William Whittington Knight, under the date 1793, the main door has a 4 ft. carving of a young Whittington with his cat chasing mice at his feet, father time & lady justice on either side, back panel has musical instruments, the bonnet with full standing winged angels and a carved 3 dimensional bust of Whittington at the crest. Massive dial has a lg. silvered chapter ring with applied Arabic hour numbers, fancy pierced hands sub-dials for Whittington/Cambridge chime on 8 bells, sub-dial with 7 songs on 12 bells, moon phase and 3 lower sub-calendar dials surrounded in pierced gilt brass filigree. The movement has large brass plates with engraved swirling leaf designs, deadbeat escapement and runs on 4 large figural painted weights, one for the chime, one for the song/tune, one for time and calendar and one for the lg. cathedral gong; movement and dial are both signed, Joshua Hampson Â Fecit 1743. Approx.12 feet high x 52 in. wide x 34 in. deep.

E. Howard Mahogany Grandfather Clock. 12 in. silvered dial signed ÂE. Howard & Co., BostonÂ having black Roman hour numerals and 5 minute numbers outside, brass back plate, arched moon phase at the top, sub seconds dial and gilt applied corner spandrels; quality brass 8 day weight driven movement signed ÂE. Howard & Co., BostonÂ, with maintaining power, Graham deadbeat escapement, half hour strike on a coiled gong, 2 quality brass pulleys and brass covered weights, long gilt wood pendulum rod and a brass covered bob. In a beautiful mahogany case in original finish with broken arched carved crest, turned finial and turned fluted columns on the bonnet, turned fluted quarter columns on the case body with inset door panel and a raised panel in the base. Pendulum rod is broken. 98 in. high x 21 in. wide x 13 in. deep.

A brass lantern clock with the engraved dials signed “Richard Washington, London” with double fusee pendulum clockworks. The 17th century case is now modified and fit with an 18th or 19th century spring driven double fusee clockworks.

This is a French and Scandinavian inspired floor clock which features light distressing and removable crown and shell overlays. Aged dial features Roman numberals beneath convex glass crystal. Americana Cherry Wood, cable-driven Westminster chime, measurs approx. 84 inches high x 22.75 inches wide x 13.25 inches deep.

Durfee Providence, RI. Quality, brass, weight driven movement with Graham deadbeat escapement and strikes on 9 tubes signed Walter H. Durfee & Company; 3 quality brass weights & pulleys, brass pendulum bob with steel stick. Carved oak case has a arched pediment crest with leaf and griffin carvings and serpentine sides on the bonnet, has a serpentine body with leaf, scroll and griffin carvings, beveled door glass and a bulbous base with figural putti and claw feet. In very good condition, original finish; movement is running. 106 in. high x 24 in. wide x 17 in. deep
