French Figural Rebecca At The Well Inverted Swinger Clock. Standing figure of Rebecca standing beside a stone well, at her feet a mirror resembles water with a border of lily pads, the standing figure wears a delicate robe which is blowing in the breeze, she leans slightly forward to look into the water with her left hand balanced against the stone well and her right hand holds up the pendulum which has a 2 tone gridiron shaft, the spherical bob has a champlevé bezel and the movement is contained within the bob; dial has applied brass Roman hour numerals and floral gilt hands, has its original green finish. The unusual brass spring driven movement is contained within the sphere, an internal counter weight on an “X” shaped suspension and attached to the crutch, which engages the escapement as the pendulum swings. Movement is singed and numbered L. Leroy & Cie. Paris, 22060; the statue is signed A. de Renieri (Aristide de Ranieri, 1880-1914, France). The white metal statue is in good condition with no breaks, damage, losses or repairs, has a good overall finish. 23.5 in. high x 16 in. wide x 11 in. deep.
