dial signed "Jacob Craft, Shepherd's Town", early 19th century, arched painted dial with floral spandrels, seconds sweep and date aperture, brass eight day movement, bell inscribed "ED Gill Philadelphia", waisted cherry case with pierced broken arch pediment with carved rosettes and diapered central finial plinth, arched case door flanked by chamfered corners, on tall bracket feet, pendulum and two weights, 102 x 19-1/2 x 11 in.

Note: Jacob Craft was a German immigrant who settled in Shepherdstown as early as 1787 and practiced clockmaking until sometime before his death in 1825. Two related clocks by Craft are in Historic Shepherdstown & Museum.
