American Ansonia Clock Co. “Drop Extra Calendar” Wall Clock, Circa 1883, 12″ original painted dial, 8-day, brass spring driven movement, stylish teardrop style, good quality rosewood veneer case, rare eight day strike calendar with Terry’s Patent Calendar Mechanism, good original label, a real collector’s clock because of the rare calendar mechanism & original condition, refer to page 70 #126 in “Ansonia Clocks & Watches” by Tran Duy Ly, good original condition with flaking to paint on dial, movement complete and in fine working order. Circa 1880 American E. N. Welch 8 day Wall Clock with 12″ Replaced paper dial, Spring driven brass movement with gong strike, perpetual calendar and phases of the moon, Very rare D. J. Gale drop wall clock. An unusual and collectible perpetual calendar wall clock. Repolished original rosewood grained finish, movement repaired. Original black paper label illegible. Wear to gilt frame in lower door, lower glass correctly restored, otherwise very good condition. 32″H x 17″W x 5″D

E.N. Welch Wall Hanging Gale Drop Calendar Clock Model 2. Large 12 in. paper dial has an outer chapter ring with 31 date calendar using a red indicator with crescent counterbalance, sub-dials for time with pierced spade hour & minute hands, 29 day moon phase with blued indicator, 12 month calendar with New England latitude sunrise and sunset times with red indicator and days of the week dial with blued indicator. Has a pierced brass spring driven movement, count wheel hour strike mechanism with coiled gong, signed E.N. Welch, Forestville, CT, USA; with calendar mechanism model 2, patented 1887. In a rosewood case with grain painted bezel, rosewood drop section has a reverse painted and gilt decorated lower door glass in good condition, refinished. Replaced paper dial, in good running condition. 31 in. high x 17 in. wide x 5 in. deep.

RARE! Curtisville Calendar Clock Co. Gallery: Has a metal painted dial marked “Calendar Clock Co., Curtisville, Connecticut Patented Sept. 19, 1854” with Roman numeral time dial, Arabic number date dial; in a large painted wood frame overlaid w/ plaster of Paris formed into floral designs; with gold leaf and blue paint.
Has early upper movement w/ inverted verge, but is not correct. Has no lower movements or working calendar parts. You are buying a very scarce case and dial. You complete the clock yourself. It’s a great example of a early calendar gallery clock.
