Pratt & Frost Half Column Mantle Clock – Groaner. Painted wood dial has a 10 in. chapter ring with black Roman hour numerals, floral center and gilt spandrels & pierced hands; has 30 hour wooden works movement with large gears, count wheel strike mechanism with drop hammer bell strike on top of the case, brass pendulum bob & iron weights. In a mahogany splat and half column case, has a ebony and stenciled crest with fruit basket and long turned half columns with stenciled gilt decoration; mirror in the lower section of the door, original glasses. Remnants of paper label in the back of the case for Pratt & Frost, Reading, Massachusetts. 34.5 in. high x 16.5 in. wide.

Painted wood dial has a 10 in. chapter ring with black painted Roman hour numerals and gilt scrolling spandrels and pierced black hands; wooden works, weight driven movement, count wheel strike mechanism with steel bell, iron weights, original paper label in the back Â Manufactured and Sold by Henry Loomis, Bristol, Conn. In a mahogany half column case with carved crest, pineapple finials, long reeded columns on the side over hairy paw front feet and turned back feet; original reverse painted tablet in the door, in overall good condition with some minor paint flaking, no inpainting. Case is refinished. 30 in. high x 17 in. wide x 6 in. deep.

Painted wood dial has a 10 in. chapter ring with black Roman hour numerals, pierced black hands and gilt enameled spandrel decorations; weight driven wooden movement has an iron bell hour strike with wood and brass pulleys, iron side weights and brass covered pendulum bob. In a carved mahogany case with overflowing basket of fruit and filigree on the crest and acanthus carved half columns on the sides over claw feet; has reverse painted lower door glass with Washington crossing the Delaware River. Case is refinished and in good condition, has a replaced lower door glass and dial is replaced and repainted, movement appears in good running condition, case is signed with partial paper label behind the lower door. 37 in. high x 18 in. wide x 6 in. deep.

Description: Antique Jonathan Frost Carved Column Wood Works Clock: T&S with a painted wood dial and a veneer case with carved column front sides. The clock has the weights, pendulums and a good interior label. The works are mostly wood with small metal parts in some areas. Not tested.

Dimensions: 26 1/2″ Tall

Condition Report: Not tested. The lower door needs glass. The weight string on one side needs to be fixed. The veneer is missing on the lower right corner. Sells as is, where is.

Notes: This clock may be packed and shipped and insured by UPS Store at the buyer’s expense.
