Stanstead, L.C. (Lower Canada). 1830s. Mixed softwoods with ebonized half columns and a stencilled splat. Porter Kimball sold clocks in the Eastern Townships of Lower Canada from the town of Stanstead. See page 102 of "Early Canadian Timekeepers" by Jane Varkaris and James E. Connell. The lower door mirror backing shows pencil writing with names and dates of previous repairs and servicings. Label inside rear case reads, "Improved Clocks Manufactured and Sold by Porter Kimball Stanstead L.C. (Lower Canada). The arched tops of the splat are missing. Replaced lower door tablet mirror. Requires weights and a pendulum. Untested for functionality. 33"H x 16.5"W x 5.5"D.
