Ph. Mourey Figural Mantle Clock. Gilt metal standing figure of a woman, an artist holding a paint brush and pallet in one hand and a tablet in the other, at her feet is an easel and portfolio with an artists box to the left; has figural cherubs on either end, on claw feet and inset brass panels along the border and on the front medallion. The clock tower has figural sphinx heads, handles and porcelain urn finial; 3.5 in. painted porcelain dial has a blue background, white panels with gilt Roman hour numerals, gilt spade hands and floral center. Typical round French brass spring driven movement signed Japy Freres, has half hour strike on a bell; case is signed on the back Ph. Mourey. 19 in. high x 18 in. wide x 6.5 in. deep.
