Canadian. 1920s. Oak. 8-day spring driven time and strike movement. Strikes on a helical gong. Each of Pequegnat's catalog tall case clocks were outfitted with weight driven movements. This example is factory-fitted with a spring driven movement, typically reserved for their wall clocks. Movement is stamped, "Pequegnat Clock Co.". Original finish. This unusual Canada variant features an 8-day time & strike spring-driven movement. Given its construction, this particular clock is thought to have been sold as a kit, intended to be assembled at home by the owner. Winding key is included. Front movement plate incised, “Arthur Pequegnat Clock Co.”. 70.5″ x 17″ x 12″. Refinished case. Mechanism complete and functioning.

Mechanism complete with original weights, chains and pendulum. One strip of missing trim along upper right side of case.
