Scroll top case with three wooden finials, turned columns, hand painted dial with flowers in corners, reverse plainted tablet, label “Patent Clocks, Invented by Eli Terry, Made and Sold in Plymouth, Connecticut”. 30 hour wooden works, weight driven, key and pendulum, measures approx. 29″ tall x 17″ wide x 4 1/2″ deep. Many Eli Terry Clocks which depict a home or building on the reverse painted glass tablet, are actual homes in the Town of Plymouth and surrounding Connecticut towns of the time period.

Very nice early Eli Terry pillar and scroll clock.

A early 19th C American Federal 29″ pillar and scroll shelf clock with a reverse painted glass below a square wood dial and with a mahogany case and scrolled cresting topped with brass urn finials. Wooden geared movement, the label now lost.

Small veneer loss on the right scroll. There is no guarantee of either the mechanical performance of clocks nor the completeness and originality of their parts and components.
