Gilbert Clock Co. Rosewood Steeple Shelf Clock With OwenÂs Patent Calendar. 5 in. original painted metal dial has black Roman hour numerals, some paint loss to the dial, blued open moon hands. Brass spring driven movement has an hour count wheel strike mechanism with coiled gong, brass covered pendulum bob, movement signed ÂGilbert Mfg. Co., Winsted, Conn.; movement has a large 7.25 in. calendar ring with 31 date Arabic numbers which are exposed through an aperture below the dial, patented by George B. Owen. Rosewood, steeple style case has turned finials, bezels around the dial glass and reverse painted aperture glass, in very good condition and original finish with a paper label inside the back of the case. 17.25 in. high x 10.5 in. wide x 4.5 in. deep.
