New Jersey or New York Veneered and Inlaid Tall Clock, c. 1810, swan's neck hood with pierced fret and carved rosettes above the free-standing reeded columns, unsigned roman numeral painted iron dial with moon's phase in the arch, and geometric-style spandrels, reeded quarter columns flanking the fully inlaid waist door, canted corner base with bell flower inlay, all resting on bracket feet, eight-day, time and hour strike brass movement with half-moon cut-out plates, regulated by a brass-faced pendulum and two tin-cased weights, ht. 92 in.

Measures approx. 100″h. It has an ornately inlaid cherry case, three brass finials, a maple inlaid broken arch pediment and a sun and moon dial with eagle and shield. Dial has some touch ups. It has a floral painted face with a faded owner’s name on it. It is signed Richard Lester on the left side of the scat board. Feet have been replaced. Clock has original weights and pendulum. Richard Lesyter made clocks in York, Pa from 1770 to 1816.
