Chelsea Spring Driven Banjo Clock. Original 7 in. painted metal dial signed ÂChelsea Clock Co., Boston, U.S.A.Â, has black incised hour numbers and blued hands; brass 8 day spring driven time only movement signed ÂChelsea Clock Co., Boston, U.S.A. numbered 168210, has a lever escapement. In a mahogany banjo presentation style case having a gilt brass eagle finial, brass door bezel, pierced brass side arms, lower presentation bracket with fluted carving, turned spherical mounts and acorn finial; reverse painted throat glass with filigree, eagle and shield, reverse painted tablet with ship scene commemoration PerryÂs Victory at Lake Erie 1813. In good overall condition, has some inpainting on the dial, some paint flaking on the reverse painted glasses, movement is not running, case has an overcoated finish. 42 in. high x 10 in. wide x 4.25 in. deep.

Chelsea Spring Driven Ships Bell Banjo Clock. 5.5 in. painted metal dial signed ÂChelseaÂ, has incised black hour numbers; brass 8 day spring driven movement signed ÂChelsea Clock Co., Boston, U.S.A.Â, numbered 771053, has a lever escapement, rack & snail shipÂs bell strike on a coiled gong. In a mahogany banjo style case with gilt brass eagle finial, brass door bezel, pierced brass side arms, presentation lower bracket with fluted carving, turned spherical mounts and acorn teardrop finial; reverse painted throat glass with gilt eagle, shield & filigree, reverse painted tablet with battle scene depicting the U.S.S. Constitution and the HMS Guerriere in the battle of 1812. In good condition, holes in dial & back plate do not all line up, has Chelsea instruction booklet and presentation plaque inside of the case to ÂJohn G. Stewart, 1950-1970, for a job well done, our deepest appreciation, W.W.E.M.A.Â. 32 in. high x 8 in. wide x 3 in. deep.
