Monumental French Gilt-brass Mantel Clock, last quarter 19th century, pineapple finial above the applied swag and floral decorated case, 6 1/2-in. convex roman numeral enameled dial with pierced gilt hands, stepped base all resting on paw feet, eight-day, time and half-hour strike mechanism, rear movement plate and pendulum marked 1369, ht. 29 in.

A fine 19th century French gilt brass carriage clock with calendar in the manner of Abraham Louis Breguet
The Classically inspired case with folding bud handle and four bud finials on an engine turned ground over rosettes and reeded columns to a matching base on button feet, the white enamel dial with blue Roman numerals, minute track and blued steel trefoil hands over a subsidiary date dial within an engine turned mask, the movement with twin barrels driving a gilt platform with bimetallic balance to a lever escapement, the strike and repeat on a bell behind a shuttered rear panel. Together with an associated mid 19th century leather covered travel case and a double ended key. 16cms (6.25ins) high.

This carriage clock is closely modelled on the early travel clocks by the great Abraham Louis Breguet. Comparable examples by Breguet were sold in these rooms 11 December 2019, lot 106 (Breguet number 2889, circa 1804), lot 107 (Breguet number 4248, circa 1837) and lot 109 (Breguet number 2963, circa 1820).

Monumental Gilt Bronze Figural Carriage Clock. 2.5 in. porcelain dial with black Roman hour numerals and pierced trefoil hands, quality brass 8 day spring driven movement has a platform lever escapement and half hour strike on a bell, movement is striking but not running. In an excellent gilt bronze case with tazza tray style finial, flowers, filigree and figures of nude women seated at the corners holding instruments in one hand, goblet and grape cluster in the other and stands on fancy pierced decorated feet. Nice overall condition, one figure missing instrument, minute hand repaired, movement not running. 11 in. high x 6.5 in. wide x 5.75 in. deep. Weight: 8.75 lbs.
