Elmer O. Stennes Lyre Banjo Clock. 7.5 in. painted metal dial has black Roman hour numerals, dial signed Elmer O. Stennes, Weymouth, Mass, typical pierced hands and brass bezel; typical brass 8 day, weight driven time only Kilbourn & Proctor Inc. movement has steel pendulum rod with brass bob, lead weight and painted red weight baffle. Carved mahogany case has a leaf carved finial, lyre shaped throat with scrolling leaf carvings, reverse painted throat glass with gilt cornucopias on a white background, leaf carved bracket with teardrop final. In very good condition and original finish, replaced dial. 41 in. high

Mahogany Lyre Banjo Clock. 7 in. replaced metal dial with black Roman hour numerals and blued open moon hands, brass weight driven time only 8 day banjo type movement with long pendulum rod, brass covered bob, brass pulley & lead weight. In a carved mahogany case with leaf carved finial, hinged door, scrolling leaf carved lyre shaped throat with inset wood panel, lower door with inset mahogany panel and tapered bracket with acorn finial. Early movement is married to this early 20th century case, weight is replaced, lyre carving has an old split and repair, beautiful dark brown enhanced original finish, center post of movement touches the dial glass when door is closed. 39.5 in. high x 11.25 in. wide x 4 in. deep.

Chelsea Mahogany Lyre Banjo Clock. Original 7 in. painted metal dial signed ÂWebb C. Ball Co., ClevelandÂ, has black hour numbers & blued spade hands; brass 8 day weight driven time only movement signed Chelsea Clock Co., Boston, U.S.A., numbered 93117, has a wood pendulum stick with brass covered bob, brass pulley & lead weight. In a mahogany lyre banjo style case with wood bezel, convex glass, turned wood bezel, scrolling lyre shaped throat frame with reverse painted scenic glass panel having mother of pearl highlights as is the matching lower tablet. Reverse painting on the glss has some touchup, the tab at the top of the throat has split corners at the screw holes, case has original finish and is in good condition. 38 in. high x 11 in. wide x 4.25 in. deep.

Joseph Nowell banjo clock with an overcoated mahogany case in a "lyre form," Chelsea 8-day brass, hour strike, direct train escapement movement with serial number "157692," dial signed "Joseph C. Nowell, Boston," paint flaking on the dial, eagle repaired, running, strike functional. Nowell purchased the movement from Chelsea in 1925, no evidence it ever had a bracket so probably made as mantel clock, no serial number on the case, label is a later addition as the case was not made by Chelsea. 24 in. high x 9 in. wide x 4 in. deep.

In very good condition and original finish, glass, hands and dial are all in good condition. 41 in. high.
