Mahogany 5 Tube Grandfather Clock. Brass dial has a 12 in. silvered chapter ring with applied brass hour numbers, silvered sub seconds dial, lever for Strike/Silent, etched gilt and pierced brass filigree decorated center and corner spandrels with moon phase dial at the top painted with seascape & mountain scenes, brass weight driven movement has Graham deadbeat escapement, retaining power, 3 brass pulleys, brass covered weights and brass covered pendulum bob with steel stick. The carved mahogany case has an arched bonnet top with spherical finials, carved crown, shield & filigree at the top & turned side columns. The body of the case has a gadrooned edge, beehive shaped door with beveled glass, turned torch & flame carved side columns; stands on large winged claw feet, carved ribbon & double torch on the front panel of the base. Case is in good original finish, has an old repair to one finial at the stem; movement is unsigned, strike mechanism runs but needs adjustment as it does not stop after the chime is completed. 106 high x 30 in. wide x 20 in. deep.
