Eight day grandfather clock has a 12 in. silvered dial with applied gilt brass hour numbers, pierced blued hands, brass back plate with pierced decorated filigree corner spandrels, sub seconds dial and moon phase dial; brass 8 day weight driven time only movement is unsigned, has Graham deadbeat escapement, maintaining power, half hour strike on a coiled gong, solid brass pulleys with brass covered weights and an ebonized wood pendulum stick with brass covered bob. In a mahogany case with turned finials and turned corner columns on the bonnet, beveled door glass in the body with long turned corner columns and stands on claw feet. Excellent overall condition and original finish, has a repair to the center finial, numbered behind the bonnet "564." Measures 93 in. high x 26 in. wide x 16.5 in. deep.

Quality brass weight driven 8 day movement with the trademark for Bawo and Dotter of New York City; has a recoil escapement, maintaining power, quality brass weights and pulleys. In a carved mahogany case with arched crest, filigree carved with 2 winged griffins, turned side columns and full standing figures of Chronos ÂFather TimeÂ; the body has large figural maidens busts on the corners with beveled glasses on the door and sides, the base has full standing winged griffins on the corners with filigree and a center carved medallion with a scene of a sailing ship, stands on scrolled feet. The brass 8 day weight driven movement is signed on the front plate “Bigelow Kennard & Co., Boston, USA” and on the rear plate “Made in England, 330” and “Patented March 6, 1902, No. 699303”; has a Graham deadbeat escapement, retaining power and 9 silvered tubes with progressive quarter hour strike on 8 and hour strike on 1, long steel pendulum stick with brass covered bob and solid brass pulleys. In a mahogany case with architectural top having applied filigree, large turned and fluted columns and block-form base with filigree borders around inset panels; has beveled glass sides and lower door, brass plaque on the reverse of the lower door is inscribed “presented to Walter S. Glidden, by his friends and associates in business on the 25th anniversary of his connection with the firm of N.E. Hollis & Company, 1881-1906”. Nov. 8, 1887, Walter H. Durfee, Prov. RI”. In a carved mahogany case has a filigree carved crest centered with a turned torch finial over a large seashell and serpentine filigree carved corbeled sides; base and body have a serpentine form with filigree carving, beveled glasses and a north wind face centered in the bottom panel. Original finish, repair to front corner of the cornice below the bonnet, repaired crest arms; movement missing 1 strike arm lever and 1 repaired. 107″ high x 27″ wide x 17″ deep.
