A late 19th century French barometer with clock. Replaced Urgos 30-hr movement with half-hour bell strike and painted metal dial with Roman numerals. Mixed wood case with Walnut finish features a broken arch crest over an upper thermometer with milk glass dial flanked by two pairs of turned fluted columns, over a spindled gallery and lower clock within a carved cartouche flanked by two additional pair of columns. Older refinishing with some wear, replaced movement, running when cataloged. 16 1/4 x 41 1/2" high overall. ESTIMATE $300-500

Wainwright And Co., BirminghamÂ; 4.5 in. lower porcelain dial with black Roman hour numerals, blued open moon hands and beveled door crystal, brass 8 day spring driven movement with half hour strike on a bell, in good running condition. In a cast iron case with urn top, oak leaves, acorns, flowers and filigree; has a thermometer with silvered dial in the center. 26 in. high x 10 in. wide x 3 in. deep. Weight: 9.75 lbs.

Clock has an original 4 in. painted metal dial with black Roman hour numerals, black spade hands; brass time only spring driven movement signed ÂE.N. WelchÂ, has a lever escapement, not running. Has a long mercury stick barometer with thermometer and original paper label along the back of the case for ÂAdmiral Fitzroy’s BarometerÂ. In good overall condition. 45.5 in. long.
