A late 19th century Lenzkirch spelter and porcelain mantel clock. 8-day spring driven time and strike movement with etched Brass dial, Arabic numerals and painted detail, serial #1 Mil 125367 indicates a production date of 1896. Louis XV style spelter case with porcelain body, two tone metal finish and gilded detail features cast cherubs and foliate scrolls. Significant wear to metal finish, some crazing, running when cataloged. 20 3/4" high overall. ESTIMATE $400-600

Louis XV style German porcelain case, with a figure of Cupid above a young couple and floral detail, hand painted decoration with gilded detail. Lenzkirch Austrian Beehive Porcelain Mantel Clock: The gong striking movement is also marked AUG 1 Million and No. 477814. The dial and every panel on the case is painted in fine detail with significant historical or religious scenes. The artist name of K. Weh can be found on 2 of the scenes. The case stands on 4 bronze claw feet.
There is no pendulum for the movement, it uses a balance wheel.
(The clock is not running at this time – both springs are wound tight. The key slots on the dial have some small nicks.)
This beautiful clock has not had any restoration done to it nor does it need any.

3 Pc. Spelter and Porcelain Clock Set. The metal case has a floral ribbon and cherubs as decoration. The porcelain face, columns and urns are all hand painted with courting couples and country scenes. The time and strike movement is numbered 5731.
(The paint is worn on the face, case and urns have been repainted, stem of urn on clock top is cracked, and the pendulum suspension is broken.)
