Bronze, fire gilded, brass, glass, metal
Italy, c. 1800
Round brass movement, spring driven, lever escapement
Half-hour strike on bell, string suspension
White enamel chapter ring with Roman hour-markers, outer minute ring with Arabic minutes, skeletonized center and pierced star motif
On a molded base the figural allegory of the hunt with a young man leaning against a tree trunk and carrying a lamb, at his feet a dog, a quiver and a bow
Overall dimensions: 66 x 40 x 20 cm
The fire-gilded table clock shows a large amount of finely rendered details
Estimate by Auctionata Expert: 12,000 Euro
Condition:
The clock is in a very good condition. In places the gilding is minimally rubbed. The pendulum is missing. The neck of the lamb shows a production related crack. On the back of the young man, several holes for mounting can be seen, presumably an application is missing here. The chapter ring has a chip in the upper part. During in house testing, the timepiece was fully functional; no guarantee on long term precision and regularity. The overall dimensions measure 66 x 40 x 20 cm.
