Seth Thomas No. 3 Oak Railroad Regulator From The Newton Highlands Station 1904. 14 in. painted metal dial has black Roman hour numerals, blued spade hands, sub seconds dial and signed with Seth Thomas trade mark; brass 8 day time only weight driven movement has pyramidal plates, deadbeat escapement, maintaining power, movement signed with Seth Thomas trademark, brass pulley and weights, ebonized wood pendulum stick and brass covered bob. Oak case has a 10 sided top with turned teardrop finials under the dial, reverse painted and gilt leaf lettered door reads Newton Highlands 1904 and has paper label in the bottom of the case; good condition and original medium red-brown finish with alligatored surface. 44 in. high x 20 in. wide x 6 in. deep.

A late 19th/early 20th century Railroad Station Floor model Regulator clock. High quality 8 day three train weight driven movement with maintaining power and split back plate having a 14″ painted dial and seconds bit, quarter hour Grand Sonnerie striking with a 5 minute warning strike prior to each quarter, on two large bells (8″ and 9 1/2″ diameter weighing over 20 lbs.) mounted on top of the case. Late Victorian style case with pediment top and central turned finial above a single long door with round upper and rectangular lower glasses having incorporated fluted columns with carved capitols, glazed case sides and a molded base with central fielded panel flanked by applied panels on either side. Case retains the original Grain painted finish with American “Stanley” hinges with a “Sweet Heart” trademark. In good running order. Finish cleaned with minor restoration. 99 3/4″ high.
Condition
